With heavy hearts, we share that Kathie Berg, our dear friend, colleague, and mentor, passed away this July. Kathie's passing has left us with a gaping hole; mourning her absence has been complicated, and expressing the entirety of who she was to us is incredibly hard to verbalize.
Kathie was the inspiration for launching our brokerage, endlessly generous with her time, advice, energy and spirit. She was our champion from the very beginning, and our cheerleader up until the very end. She encouraged us to forge our own path and remain authentic to our core values, ethics and beliefs, and to continue doing so in an industry that often favors those who choose profit over people. We remain eternally grateful for her wisdom, spunk, laughter, and passion for community and family.
With 40 years in real estate, Kathie was hugely important to the East Bay real estate community. Many agents found themselves working in real estate because Kathie made it look like so much fun. She enjoyed every aspect of working with the people and issues that make up the rich tapestry of a real estate transaction. Over the course of her career, Kathie was lucky to work with many wonderful people. She felt honored to be able to help people buy and sell homes and often became part of her clients’ family and even helped different generations of the same families.
We will forever cherish the memories we hold dear of our friend and mentor Kathie Berg.
Love,
the Zip Code East Bay family
